FUNDRAISER AT THE FILLMORE

The Penrod Family, a WLC Viking football assistant coach and former Chargers family, has a 7-year old son who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy two years ago. His family and friends are passionately raising funds to find a cure for this terrible disease. Please come out and support them and enjoy a great night with fellow Chargers on March 5, 2010, at the Fillmore in Detroit (next to the Fox Theater). Ticket prices are $20 for main floor general admission, $30 for main floor reserved seating, and $75 for VIP mezzanine seats, which includes a strolling gourmet dinner. Doors open at 5, strolling dinner for VIP ticket-holders begins at 5:30, and the show starts at 7pm. VIKING TASTEFEST
WALLED LAKE CENTRAL FOOTBALL BOOSTER CLUB
On February 24th, 2010, the Walled Lake Central Football Booster Club will proudly present their 5th annual “Viking Tastefest.” This is a fabulous taste feast featuring food from area restaurants. The event will be held at Edgewood County Club from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and they expect approximately 250 members of the Walled Lake Central community to attend.
Proceeds from this event will significantly strengthen and enhance the quality of the WLC outstanding football program. These athletes are working very hard and have high aspirations for a very successful season. Being able to provide these outstanding young men with the safest equipment and state of the art training materials is the goal of this organization.
The Walled Lake Central Football Team, lead by head coach Bob Meyer, relies heavily on fundraisers and donations from the community. They plan to use donations at their auction the night of the event. The types of items they are looking for are gift certificates from restaurants, hair salons, car washes, gas stations, etc. Also any item of interest such as sporting events, concerts, sports memorabilia, art, gift baskets would be appreciated. If you have a connection to a local restaurant or food service provider, please ask them to participate. They need a large number of food vendors and a variety of foods to make this event FANTASTIC!! The 2010 Commerce Chargers Registration packet has been mailed out. If you do not receive your packet by January 16, please contact the Registrar, Maria Branoff, at
. Be sure to review the information carefully as some of the policies and procedures have been updated for 2010. Extra copies of the documents can be found on the Commerce Chargers website at commercechargers.com. The deadline for registering is March 15th. If you have not registered by that date, you will have to go through the open registration process and possibly be placed into the lottery system or placed on a waiting list and will be taken off the Chargers email distribution list.  | | | | by

The Chargers organization would like to welcome all of the football players, cheerleaders, and their families to the 2010 Commerce Chargers Season. Although there may be snow on the ground, we are ready to kick off another great Chargers season and are looking forward to our 3rd year as an organization.

For boys and girls ages 6-14 interested in junior league FOOTBALL or CHEERLEADING:
FOOTBALL is comprised of four teams: Flag (6-7 yr olds), Freshman (8-9 yr olds), Junior Varsity (10-11 yr olds), and Varsity (12-13 yr olds) with approx 30-35 players per team. Maximum 21 players on flag. Practice begins in August and the season runs through first week of November.
CHEERLEADING squads are broken down into Flag, Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity with approx 20 girls on each squad. Cheerleaders are grouped according to grade level. Flag, 1st-2nd grade, Freshman, 3rd-4th grade, Junior Varsity, 5th-6th grade, Varsity 7th-8th grade.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMATION
A registration fee of $175 ($100 for flag football and flag cheer) is required to hold your spot. You will also need to provide a copy of your player/cheerleader's birth certificate.
Registration for new players is determined by which Walled Lake elementary school district a player or cheerleader resides. The Commerce Chargers district is comprised of the following schools:
Loon Lake
Maple
Mary Helen Guest
Oakley Park
Pleasant Lake
Twin Beach
**All selections for open roster positions will be handled on a lottery basis from the teams' respective districts. Everyone who fills out a registration form and pays their fee at registration will have an equil opportunity of being selected for open roster spots. You will be notified by mail or phone of your acceptance. Registration fees will be returned if not selected.
